Preparation

My original departure date was the end of January. That means I have about 2 months to prepare to leave the country for the year. I'm expected mid-February and fly out of San Francisco on Valentine's Day. Nothing says love like a 14 hour flight over the ocean, right?

Anyways, I need to get my passport, my visa, my shots, and figure out what kind of stuff I need to bring with me that won't be available in Taiwan.

Surprise!

So I'm moving to Taiwan. To teach English. For a year. Crazy, right?

I'm starting this blog to keep you updated on the whole process. This is definitely the craziest/biggest/most exciting/scariest decision I've made in my life to date.

Having always wanted to travel, when the opportunity arose I couldn't say no. Taiwan has never been on the top of my "must see" list, but the more I think about going, the more excited I get.

The plan is to cover my journey from preparation, all the way to my return home in 2013.
